Itinerary
Itinerary of Captivating Bangalore Coorg Tour Package for 3 Days & 2 Nights
Day 1: Arrival, Check-in & Bangalore Sightseeing
Upon arrival at Bangalore airport or railway station, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in. After freshening up, you can proceed with sightseeing.
- Bangalore Palace- Bangalore Palace is a striking Tudor-style architectural marvel inspired by Windsor Castle in London. Constructed by the Wodeyars in 1887, the palace is known for its vast grounds, beautiful wooden carvings, and an audio-guided museum tour. It’s a must-visit destination on a Bangalore Coorg tour itinerary.
- Lalbagh Botanical Garden- Lalbagh Botanical Garden has one of the finest collections of tropical plant life in India. Well-crafted flowerbeds, ornamental pools and water fountains, alongside a Victorian glasshouse, make it a tourist spot unlike most city parks. It also houses rare plant species brought from Persia, France and beyond.
- Cubbon Park- Cubbon Park, officially named Sri Chamarajendra Park, stretches across 300 acres of bamboo groves, shaded pathways and flowering trees. Its lush greenery and soothing atmosphere make it an ideal picnic spot for families and friends.
- Vidhana Soudha- Vidhana Soudha is Karnataka's seat of legislative power and a defining landmark on Bangalore's skyline. Built in 1956 in the Neo-Dravidian style, the building has elements from Chalukya, Hoysala and Vijayanagara traditions. It’s particularly striking when illuminated against the evening sky.
- ISKCON Temple- ISKCON Temple Bangalore, perched atop Hare Krishna Hill, is one of the largest ISKCON temples in the world. Dedicated to Radha-Krishna, the temple is known not only for its religious significance but also for its architecture. It’s a fusion of Neo-Classical style with traditional Dravidian elements.
- Commercial Street- Commercial Street is one of the oldest and busiest shopping destinations in Bengaluru. The street is known for clothes, footwear, jewellery, electronics and food joints. It has a wide range of stores, ranging from high-end boutiques to street vendors. And it's an excellent place to pick up gifts and soak in the lively atmosphere.
Day 2: Transfer to Coorg, sightseeing enroute & Coorg Sightseeing
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and begin the tour to Coorg from Bangalore. In Coorg, transfer to your hotel and check in before heading out for sightseeing.
En-route Sightseeing
- Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple)- Namdroling Monastery, also known as the Golden Temple, is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery on the way from Bangalore to Coorg. It’s in Bylakuppe, as the largest Nyingma teaching centre outside Tibet. The monastery is popular not only for its spiritual significance but also for its vibrant architecture and three magnificent golden statues.
- Kaveri Nisargadhama- Kaveri Nisargadhama is a small island reserve on the River Kaveri, located near Kushalnagar. This forest park was established in 1989 and it has been one of the most enjoyable tourist places on a Bangalore Coorg tour package. It’s connected to the mainland by a hanging bridge.
Coorg Sightseeing
- Raja's Seat- Raja's Seat (meaning "Seat of the Kings") is a garden that the Kodava kings used to visit to enjoy the surrounding scenic beauty. It’s a beautiful place to relax, admire the surrounding areas, and watch the breathtaking sunset. Lush greenery with a calm environment makes for a picture-perfect setting.
- Madikeri Fort- Madikeri Fort is a historic landmark built by Mudduraja at the centre of Coorg's capital town. He also constructed the palace within the fort, which Tipu Sultan later rebuilt and restructured in granite. The main highlight here is the museum. It offers a glimpse of Coorg’s history, displaying artefacts and weaponry used by various rulers.
- Omkareshwara Temple- Omkareshwara Temple in Madikeri, built in 1820, is a unique blend of Gothic and Islamic styles. It’s a rare example of two architectural traditions meeting in a single structure. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The water tank in the premises is another attraction of the temple.
Day 3: Coorg Sightseeing & Departure
After breakfast at your hotel, check out and proceed with sightseeing if time permits before your return journey.
- Dubare Elephant Camp- Dubare Elephant Camp, located along the banks of the River Cauvery, was where elephants were once trained for the Mysore Dussehra festival. Operated by the Forest Department, these elephants are now used for jungle rides. The camp also offers a chance to watch elephants being bathed and fed.
- Abbey Falls- Abbey Falls is a confluence of many streams that form a pool. It falls from a height of around 70 feet through a canopy of coffee and spice plantations. A short walk through the plantations leads to the viewpoint, which is surrounded by the intoxicating aroma of coffee.
- Mandalpatti Peak- Mandalpatti Peak is a serene, green hilltop destination away from the bustling town of Coorg. The peak is located within Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, and it’s a perfect place for a short trek. The drive up in a jeep through dense forest is also an adventure in itself.
- Chiklihole Reservoir- Chiklihole Reservoir is a serene tourist spot formed by one of the River Cauvery tributaries. It’s an ideal place, surrounded by forested hills, for those looking for some seclusion and privacy away from the crowd. A good place to stop during your Bangalore Coorg tour.
