En-route Sightseeing
- Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple)- Namdroling Monastery, also called Golden Temple, is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Bylakuppe. It’s the largest teaching centre of the Nyingma lineage outside Tibet. Three towering gold-plated statues of Padmasambhava, Amitayus and Shakyamuni Buddha are among its main attractions.
- Dubare Elephant Camp- Dubare Elephant Camp offers a chance to get up close with elephants along the banks of the River Cauvery. Elephants used to be trained here for the celebrated Mysore Dasara procession. Now, it welcomes tourists to watch the elephants being fed and bathed, and to enjoy rides.
- Cauvery Nisargadhama- Cauvery Nisargadhama is a verdant island forest reserve near Kushalnagar formed by a loop in the River Cauvery. It’s a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by dense forests and bamboo groves. A bamboo raft ride on the river here makes it a memorable attraction.
Day 2: Coorg Sightseeing
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a full day of sightseeing across Coorg.
- Abbey Falls- Abbey Falls is a 70-foot waterfall surrounded by coffee estates and spice plantations. It’s among the most popular natural landmarks on this Bangalore Coorg Chikmagalur tour. A short walk leads you to the viewpoint, from where the waterfall can be seen tumbling down over a rocky terrain.
- Raja's Seat- Raja’s Seat, meaning the Seat of the Kings, is a garden viewpoint in the heart of Coorg. It’s said to have been the favourite vantage point of Kodava kings to enjoy the sunset and the sweeping valley below. Lush greenery and a charming toy train for children make it a pleasant family destination.
- Madikeri Fort- Madikeri Fort has stood at the centre of Coorg’s history for centuries. Originally built in mud by Mudduraja in the 17th century, it was later rebuilt in stone by Tipu Sultan. Within its walls, the fort houses a palace, a church, a temple, and a museum with a collection of artefacts and weaponry.
- Omkareshwara Temple- Omkareshwara Temple is a rare, visually striking shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Built in 1820, it’s a harmonious blend of Islamic and Gothic architectural styles. A serene pond on the premises, filled with fish and fringed by trees, also adds to the temple’s charm.
- Mandalpatti Viewpoint- Mandalpatti Viewpoint is a green hilltop that offers a sweeping panorama of the entire Coorg. It’s located within Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, and it offers breathtaking views of rolling hills and misty valleys. The drive up in a jeep through dense forest is also an adventure in itself.
Day 3: Transfer to Chikmagalur, & Sightseeing enroute
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and begin the trip to Chikmagalur. We’ll also stop at tourist places on the way. In Chikmagalur, transfer to your hotel and check in.
En-route Sightseeing
- Mullayanagiri Peak- Mullayanagiri Peak, standing at 1930 metres, is the highest peak in Karnataka. The trekking trail to its summit is through grassy slopes and mist-laden paths, offering sweeping views of the valleys. The calming ambiance and the rugged terrain also add to its charm.
- Baba Budangiri- Baba Budangiri is a sacred mountain revered by both Hindus and Muslims. The peak has a shrine dedicated to the Sufi saint Hazrat Dada Hayat Mir Khalandar as well as the Hindu saint Dattatreya. The rocky patches and rolling hills make the mountain range popular among trekkers, too.
- Jhari Waterfalls- Jhari Waterfalls is a lesser-known gem tucked away in the forested outskirts of Chikmagalur. It’s a delightful treat for everyone looking to bask in serene natural surroundings. It’s a destination worth checking out in this Bangalore Coorg Chikmagalur tour package.
- Hirekolale Lake- Hirekolale Lake is a serene, scenic lake at the foothills of the Mullayanagiri range. The open skies and the huge mountains surrounding the lake make it a tranquil spot for an evening walk or a quiet sit by the water. The sunset views, especially, are a treat for photography lovers.
Day 4: Chikmagalur Sightseeing
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a full day of sightseeing across Chikmagalur.
- Belur Chennakeshava Temple- Belur Chennakeshava Temple is a 12th-century Hindu temple that took over a century to complete. The temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is one of the finest examples of Hoysala craftsmanship in existence. It’s renowned for its intricate star-shaped platform and detailed stone carvings.
- Halebidu Hoysaleswara Temple- Halebidu Hoysaleswara Temple is another 12th-century temple built under the Hoysala Empire. It’s a UNESCO-recognised heritage site dedicated to Lord Shiva. This twin-shrine complex is adorned with continuous friezes and intricate reliefs carved with fine precision.

- Mahatma Gandhi Park- Mahatma Gandhi Park is a green retreat set against the backdrop of Mullayanagiri. With manicured lawns, flower beds and a pleasant walking path, it offers a relaxing stop during this Chikmagalur tour. A treehouse and sculpted caves also make this park worth visiting.
Day 5: Return to Bangalore, Bangalore Sightseeing & Departure
After breakfast at your hotel, check out and begin the drive back to Bangalore. We’ll make time for Bangalore sightseeing before your return journey.
- Lalbagh Botanical Garden- Lalbagh Botanical Garden houses a collection of tropical flora alongside rare plant species brought from Persia, France and Afghanistan. Spread across 240 acres, it’s Bangalore’s living green heart. Its Victorian-era glasshouse, ancient rock formation, and shaded pathways make it worth visiting.
- Bangalore Palace- Bangalore Palace is a grand Tudor-style structure with a mix of Scottish Gothic architecture. Built by the Wodeyars in 1887, the palace features elegant chandeliers, wooden staircases and detailed carvings throughout. An audio-guided tour takes you into stories of Bangalore’s royal history.
- Cubbon Park- Cubbon Park, officially Sri Chamarajendra Park, is a 300-acre green expanse. It’s a scenic tourist attraction with century-old trees, bamboo groves and vibrant flowerbeds. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a welcome respite from the city’s bustle.
- Vidhana Soudha (Exterior View)- Vidhana Soudha is one of Bangalore’s most iconic landmarks. Being Karnataka’s seat of legislative power, it’s the largest legislature-cum-office building in India. The structure is particularly striking in the evening hours when bathed in golden light.
- ISKCON Temple- ISKCON Temple Bangalore is one of the largest ISKCON temples in the world. Built in a fusion of Neo-Classical and traditional Dravidian styles, it’s dedicated to Radha-Krishna.
