About Nandi Hills
Located 65 km from Bangalore, Nandi Hills is a popular weekend getaways. Nandi Hills, also referred as Nandidurga, is 1,478 meters above the sea level. This small hillock near Bangalore promises an enjoyable time with scenic beauty and pleasant weather to pamper its tourists.
The places been named after marvelous statue of Nandi, the bull, beautifully guarding the outside of the Yoga Nandeeshwara temple. The Yoga Nandeeshwara Temple, is located on top of the hills and is the dwelling of Lord Shiva. Built by the Cholas, the temple is also dedicated to Sambhaji who was the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji. Thus, some legend claim that the hills have their origin from the Chola dynasty.

The Nandi Temple:
Situated at the foothills of the Nandi Hills, the Nandi temple has Bhoganandishwara and Yoga Nandishwara as the presiding divinities. The temple is said to have been built by the Chola dynasty. The temple is a beautiful architectural creation. The pillar and metal work adorning the temple add on to its attraction. There is a lamp tower in front of the temple which is lighted every evening.
Amrita Samovar at Nandi Hills with its shimmering water of the Lake of Nectar is also one of the major tourists attractions.
Bhoga Nandishwara Temple:
This temple is located at the base of the Nandi Hills in the Nandi Village. Bhoga Nandishwara Temple follows the Dravidian style of architecture and is one of the places worth looking at.

The climate at Nandi Hill is mostly pleasant making it perfect to visit at any time of the year. The average temperate of the place is 23°C to 29°C in Summer and 11°C to 21°C in Winters. However, it is advisable to avoid visiting the hills during the monsoon season which is during June to August.
